The Grace Digital GDI-SXBR1 Internet Radio was developed to support the award winning SiriusXM Internet Music for Business service, allowing you to use a high-speed internet connection to play SiriusXM's award-winning music programming direct from the internet (no need for a satellite dish installation). This service is available exclusively to SiriusXM business subscribers and provides 85 music channels including 30 specialized channels with absolutely no DJ or commercial interruptions. You hear nothing but music. It's easy to set up and easy to use - no computer required. Simply connect to your existing sound system.
Q: Do you have to pay for serius music or can you stream free pandora and free streams like it?
A: You can stream free Pandora and internet stations, however if you wish to listen to SiriusXM, it does require an internet listening subscription.
Q: Do you need a computer to set up this wifi radio
A: You will need WIFI. Not necessarily a computer, however if you wish to take advantage of some of the extra features, including Pandora, you will want to register the radio online. I suppose you could do it on a smart phone or tablet, but it would be a little more difficult.
A: This radio is for business SiriusXM subscriptions. Other Grace digital products can receive SiriusXM, however they will need an optional ethernet adapter.
A: This is a business radio and will receive only SiriusXM. It does have the RCA outputs on the back so it would connect to your amplifier like the IRA500. It will NOT receive your free streaming stations, only a business subscription to SiriusXM for business.
Q: Do I need additional speakers for this ? Is this what you use inside of the house ?
A: This radio is intended for use in a business environment with an amplifier and speakers. It would not be enough to use alone inside the home. If you are looking for a model to use in the home with a built in speaker, look for the GDI-SXTTR2 Tabletop radio for SiriusXM internet radio, or the GDI-IRC6000 Mondo Internet radio.
A: SiriusXM is a paid service. Pandora and others have free streams.
