Q: Can this projector play 3d movies? If so what glasses do I need to buy?

A: Yes it does! Supports all HDMI 1.4a mandatory 3D formats (Frame pack, side-by-side, top-bottom) and up converts frame rate from 60Hz to 120Hz or 24Hz to 144Hz (i.e. 60 or 72 frames per eye). 3D glasses are needed and sold separately. Refer to user manual for details. Ordered mine today... can't wait to give it a try

Q: how many inches does it project

A: 120” is the max; works best with taller ceilings. I’m trying it out in my basement, which has a 93” ceiling- the projector has to be about 11” off the floor to fit that ceiling height. Also, the SmartFIT doesn’t work reliably, and if you put into game mode, you lose any manual settings. I have until 10/24 to return it; jury is still out. Also, though I’m using an ALR screen, still a poor picture in ambient light, and still a bit dark image with lights out. I suspect the unit would work better with a higher ie, 9 ft or taller ceiling. Hope that helps!

Q: IS IT SMART DEVICE?

A: can iconect comcat cable box to this projector

Q: What is the distance from the top of the projector to the bottom of the screen? Other brand I'm looking at requires about a 14" gap which won't allow with my ceiling height (or lack of). Thank you

A: https://www.projectorcentral.com/Optoma-CinemaX_P2-projection-calculator-pro.htm#calc Use this calculator, you can input almost any projector and determine your area. You may have to go with a lower stand.

Q: I’m not having any luck with info on troubleshooting my Optoma Cinemax P2 projector. After trying to update the firmware, the projector isn’t working and won’t turn on. Flashing red lights (one on the bulb, one on the power) Suggestions? This is anewdevice

A: Optoma released a firmware update and many people had an unknown error on their mainboard. The firmware update exposed this and it must be returned to Optoma for repair for most people. It should be under warranty since this projector is less than a year old since release. Contact Optoma for service.

Q: How far from the wall does this unit need to be if you are projecting for 120" screen?

A: The projector is seating approximately 14.5 inches from the wall to project a 120" screen. Hope this helps.

Q: Does this projector have a HDMI 2.1 port for next gen gaming on PS5 120hz at 4k?

A: all hdmi are either 2.0 or 1.4 EDID maybe in a future update but not now
