Great projector overall! Great picture quality. The only thing I would have liked to see is a more intuitive home screen and remote. Once you get used to it, you can navigate fine but when setting up and trying to make picture adjustments, I think it could have been easier.

A near perfect upgrade from my 75" Samsung TV

Pros - Easy to set up - Bright image suitable for well-lit room with ALR screen - Great contrast - Excellent image quality - Excellent 3D Cons - Terrible OS with a horrible selection of mediocre apps - No ability to manually enable 3D mode for viewing of streaming 3D content (YouTube) I chose to upgrade from my previous 75" Samsung 3D capable 4K television to this 3D capable Ultra Short Throw Laser Projector and a 100" Ambient Light Rejecting screen. For me, this Ultra Short Throw Projector was the best option. More expensive than a ceiling mounted projector, but comparable in price and far easier to implement when taking into account the added time and expense of running electrical/network/video cables to a location in the ceiling. The self contained projector also has the benefit of a very quiet cooling fan, which when located further away (as opposed to over the viewing area) is inaudible. If I was only able to have manual control over 3D so I could view 3D content available on YouTube I would rate it a full 5/5 ⭐

My First projector and ultra-short throw. Using an Elite Screens Aeon CLR Series, 120-inches 16:9 Edge Free, Fixed frame, and with LED light kit. model# AR120h-CLR Using Sony 4k Ultra HD Player, Roku 4k, media pc, Denon X3500H, and DefTech speakers 1- CS9040 / 4- BP9040.(for now...) It looks decent on just a plain darker wall, better at night, and best with Elite Screen. Set up was pretty easy.

It was not extremely easy to set up the projector but the screen centering was a pain. The sound is very good for a portable speaker. The color and brightness are amazing, it is a very vibrant picture. I use it for gaming and there is a slight lag but for a non-hardcore gamer it is not a deal breaker. I just ehard warner brothers is releasing their movies to hbo max and the screen and projector will make for awesome movie premieres.

The picture quality is superb. Especially if used with the right screen. We opted to buy the Optoma 100” ALR screen available through Best Buy. We are over the moon. If you can buy it, do it. Worth the splurge. Optoma branded internal apps leave something to be desired.

If you want an ultra4k projector with 3D DLP Link settings then this is for you. One thing I did not realize from the picture is just how long and heavy this projector is. Put it on a solid tv tabke and move it to where the picture is larger than the screen by a little. It works on my 120inch screen just fine. The actual os of the tv is not good(-1) so be sure to plug in a 4K streamer like roku or chromecast. Two HDMI Ports go to HDCP 2.2 and there is a side hdmi port that goes to HDCP 1.4. The remote is solid metal rechargable but as small as a firetv remote with as limited buttons. The remote is easy to lose and tge actual white text on the remote got rubbed off after 1 month. Remarkable Screen Brightness and Clarity but extra functions are lacking completeness.

Excellent UST laser projector. Setup, keystone, focus, etc are all very easy and work well. Image quality and brightness are excellent. Edge to edge contrast isn’t the best of the ones I’ve used, but it is close and still very good. Only notice shading not being as contrasted as i would like from time to time. Color balance is wonderful. Speakers are good quality, but would definitely recommend an Atmos setup for theater realism. Currently using the Samsung HW-Q950a and JBL Bar 9.1 in out 2 theater rooms. Both are excellent and close to my favorite Sonos bar.

I never wanted the hassle of running cables, spending money on installation of home theater. I saw a cheaper theater at friend's place and I was sold. After comparing it with Samsung, I decided to go with the Cinemax P2. The installation was breeze. I am still using the box as a desk/stool for the projector. The colors are vibrant, clear and stunning 4K. Even with the lights on, the picture quality is amazing. The speakers with it are sufficient for now. The internal app is garbage, I am using Firestick anyway. The fan noise is not noticable.

This is my first ultra short throw projector... and it is EVERYTHING i could ever want. This projector looks very amazing and I have been projecting it on an automatic projector screen (not ALR) it is a temporary setup at the moment so I am just using the built in speakers and you will not be disappointed! They blow any tv speakers out of the water and sound very clear and have plenty of bass. The picture quality is 4k at its finest, I have watched content on oled tvs and it comes very very close. I was shocked by how deep the blacks are and how vibrant HDR content was. GAMING: I am a very competitive gamer and was honestly surprised by the gaming mode on this projector. Most reviews show it at around 66ms which of course is 66 times the response time I am used to playing on a monitor. I initially tested it with my nintendo switch and played super smash bros ultimate and mario kart 8. Both games were easily playable and I had no problem adjusting to the input lag. A thing to note is the colors were a bit off on the switch at first it was easy to adjust with the projector settings but for some reason 1080p content didn't look perfecr out of the box. I then tested a few minutes of call of duty cold war on a PS5 and for the average gamer it is playable, much more than I expected but on FPS shooters of course it is not ideal. Price: yes it is a whopping price tag but compared to other ultra short throws this is the one to beat.

The Optoma is slightly more expensive, and it's clear why: you're buying from a company with more experience in building projectors, and these differences show through. In terms of size, the CinemaX is slightly larger compare to most of it's competitors. It is noticeably quieter, brighter, better color than other projectors. Optoma's remote has a nice metal feel, the projector has one button, so don't lose the remote. Optoma's remote also works as an air mouse. Native apps is not amazing, though we could actually get a prime video to play. Having the projector's standalone speaker will work just fine.

This is my second UST projector. First being the LG PF1000U. My first reaction for the Optoma P2 was wow it is very quiet and bright. I wasn't wowed by the picture, at least not yet. After searching for 4K HDR content on youtube and getting my settings right on the 4K appletv, then I was wowed. I also got the ALR101e projection screen for daytime living room viewing. I think it is a must if you want to watch it during the day. It is like having a 100 inch tv. Not sure of the differences between the other 4K USTs but with my eyes, not sure if I could notice a picture being better than what I am seeing now on the P2. The smarfit app to fit the light to the screen worked like magic. I think only negative is the price. I wish it was cheaper but I have no regrets on the purchase.

This is my third projector and my first ultra short throw projector ,color accuracy is great, black levels aren’t as good on this as they are on my TV but I think that will improve once I get an ultra short throw screen. The sound on the projector is good but I’ve decided to put a surroundsound system on it. Once I get a ultra short throw screen I think I will have the full potential of this projector looking forward to it. At this point I am more than satisfied with my purchase.

except for lack of smart features, picture clarity/sound is amazing. this proved nothing short of my SONY X90J TV in for picture clarity and HDR perf. Had to calibrate a little to get the optimal picture. Only drawback is the additional remove you have to maintian for chromecast/firetv and sound bar. Happy with the purchase.

Spectacular product. Very clear. Very bright. If you've been hunting and shopping, then you know what's out there. This beats the Vava. I owned both. Those 500 ANSI Lumens more than the Vava make a significant difference. I love this thing. It's easy to use. It's easily set up. And you can easily move it around. The speakers in it are pretty decent. The Vava I would say has it beat in the speakers, but not by much. It has some smarts that are nice where it just automatically picks the input that is streaming. The OS itself and the apps are all trash. So definitely expect to get something external. Like a ROKU or your Gaming console. Other than that, very cool. And worth it.

The imagery is astounding with this projector! I recommend ordering a Roku or similar compatible device with the projector or you may be disappointed though. We have it operating at 120” and it’s crisp! The entire system works better since we started using the roku. The projector only comes with Netflix and one other app which was lagging before we bought the roku. Setup is fairly easy but the app to align isn’t working. We should’ve put the screen to line up with the projector not vise versa to save time. I will have to cut the legs of the table to avoid adjusting the screen and drilling more holes. Overall we love this and the picture is WAY better than we thought it would be.
