We have Hue Phillips in many rooms, this light bulb was the first in our living room. We are going with a different style due to the buzzing created from the bulb. Same brand, only different style. If you are using this bulb in a single source it would be great but since we are using in the ceiling of the living room and need 8 bulbs the buzzing would be too loud.

Unlike many lights out there, the hue hub is the secret sauce for fast and responsive changes in lighting. The app however is awefull, use Alexa instead.

These little bulbs sure pack a colorful punch. While the latest version of these apparently display better green and blue colors, these lights certainly hold their own at their price. You'd have to pay more for the LIFX brand to get more vibrant colors, or simply get the newer ones of these. Very happy

got a Hue starter kit from a friend as a birthday gift and liked it very much, so decided to get a color bulb. Works perfectly fine and is extremely configurable. I added it in the same room and group as the white bulbs and for me it did not work right. In my opinion, in order to obtain the full effect, all bulbs in a certain area or room need to be color (of the same kind) so the color can fill the room. Will look for a sale and get a couple more! Definitely a great device, easy to control from Amazon Echo or Apple Home app.

I have 4 of these lightbulbs in my house. Yes, the greens and blues are documented to be richer in the 3rd generation, however I'm completely satisfied. At the time, these bulbs were on sale for $35 vs. the $49 for 3rd generation. The hue system allows for integration with Homekit, Alexa, and IFTTT. My family loves it when I make the bulbs change colors according to the music played. I will be purchasing more in the future.

We wanted a way to show my son when and when it was not time to wake up so we got this bulb to help with that. At bedtime we turn it blue and dim it to 20 percent, using it as a night light. Then at 7:00 we set up a routine to turn it white. Love this bulb.

Make sure you get Hue Gen 3 only, it's hard to find what gen the accessories are, but you can do a quick search on the part number. Only wished the hue app was more customizable, different color to wake up would be nice for example.

Since I have bought a house I decided the whole thing needs to be Hue! I am 80% there. I can't get enough of these bulbs. They look great and last long! I love the colors and the efficiency!

Nice soft hue light. I tell Alexa to turn on light and it comes on dimmed and purple. There are different scenes you can use. Great for watching movies. Just enough light to get around

I bought these to add to my growing collection of Hue Bulbs. I have them linked to my Amazon Echo and numerous phone apps. It takes some effort to set up, but it is worth it.

I needed an extra light for the living room. Not sure of the difference of the 2nd or 3rd gen but this one does the trick and set up is simple.

Works great with our Amazon Echo. We love being able to turn the light on by asking Alexa. Color changing ability is a nice bonus.

We have guests all the time so we always put the lights in party mode with music and dim them for other lighting

I have used the Hue since its first inception and even though I have not tried any other brand, the Hue has always been stable and Philips kept up with the technology all the time. When HomeKit was announced by Apple, Philips followed up with a new Hue Bridge that is HomeKit compatible. If you use you iPhone, it's really fun to just say "Siri, turn on Living Room" or "Siri, set brightness to 50%".
