Q: How do you remove cover without breaking a nail?
A: You do not remove the cover. You just slide it back and forth to expose the end.
Q: Is the plastic usb port connector on the flashdrive as durable as the metal ones?
A: Absolutely not! I've seen metal usbs go through a lot, and they last an eternity, however the plastic ones are much more fragile and tend to be much less reliable. I once lost 16 gigabytes of work by trusting a plastic use to save my files. Regardless I learned my lesson.

A: Yes this is a usb flash drive that will work back to windows 7

A: I used this product for my XBox. You do have to configure it. This can be done in the settings.
A: Yes you can keep your files or photos on it and delete them from your computer. Think of it as an extra storage device. Years ago CD's were used to hold and back up files and pictures now we use these and they hold so much more than a CD or a DVD.
