20th Century Masters: The Millennium Collection: Best of the Four Tops [CD]

The Four Tops were a singles group. The albums had one maybe two hits and the rest may have been filler but that does not mean that the filler was bad. This CD has a combination of both and when the hits are padded the lesser known songs will grow on you. Levi Stubbs had a passionate voice that was so good it could make the hair on your arms stand up but once you added the voices of Abdul "Duke" Fakir, Renaldo "Obie" Benson and Lawrence Payton you heard THE Motown magic on the radio, witnessed it in concert or on The Ed Sullivan Show. They were that strong; they were IT! Yes, the CD is missing some songs but what is on this CD is good. True, there are better compilations but they are becoming harder to find because today's youth just don't care or know about The Four Tops. If you need a Four Tops fix and have limited funds, you cannot go wrong. Buy the CD and trust me; you will be happy!

The Four Tops were one of the top Motown groups in the '60's. Their versatility made them one of the most popular groups - R&B, Soul, jazz, etc. If you grew up in that era or are discovering the era, this is one of the foundational groups you need in your collection.

The funniest thing was that the cashier was jealous that I found this CD in the bin. She says she checks it every day and never saw it. And she is a throwback as a 20 something. Says her grandfather turned her on to these songs. I was impressed she listens to and buys CD's. Best Buy - bring CD's back into the store!!!!!

Great collection and once downloaded to iTunes can stay with your collection regardless of devices used over time. As for the music the recording is excellent and have no problems with the disc or case, no damage.

four tops are one of a number of bands that keep me in great moods through out my school year. I have loved the sound and songs that came out of Motown back in the 50s through the 80s they never get old and they will always put a smile on your face. Brings back a lot of great times

The song "Bernadette" is the reason that I bought this CD. I love that song! After buying the album and giving the whole thing a listen, I was reminded of other Four Tops greats like "I'll Be There", "Standing In The Shadows Of Love", and so many more. I very highly recommend this album!

Old school great music you can’t go wrong listening to some for tops nice party music nice to have CDs still. I wish Best Buy would still have at least one aisle of CDs for purchases.

If you enjoy Motown music from the 1960's to early 1970's, you will enjoy this album! Every song is great, sung by a very talented foursome. Highly recommend.
