Customers are saying
Customers appreciate several aspects of the game, but some find the gameplay disappointing. Negative feedback centers on the feeling that the game is a step back from previous installments in the series and that a new system makes it difficult to defeat certain enemies. Some players found the game boring and unengaging. The overall experience appears to be divisive among players.

hmmmm not too sure
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.so I have been playing the Ace Combat series since Electrosphere on the PS-1 and I am sorry to say this is probably my least favorite of them. Not only have they done away with the fantasy What If feeling of the storylines by bringing the game to the real world but they have also put way too much emphasis on their new DFM system which makes it incredibly hard to take out a large group of airborne enemies since your wingmen really don't provide much cover. Now Im not dissing the graphics because they are spectacular but I would gladly have the graphics of "Fires of Liberation" to still have the storylines and gameplay that made this series so great. Finally even though this game does have a fair amount of planes (Not as many as Unsung war but still a fair amount) it only lets you use the planes that the game has unlocked for you completely eliminating the buying and selling system from all other games. So Finally I am a huge Ace Combat fan but this game really disappoints I hope they leave the new stuff behind and go back to what made this series my favorite out there.

Game takes the series backwards
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the worst game of the Ace Combat series. The dogfight mode is the worst decision ever. It takes the skill of having to chase down an enemy to shoot them down. The helicopter addition was a good change of pace. When playing the game in easy it actually plays like the hard level. Overall this was definitely a step backwards w/ the series.

Not as good as it's predicessors...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have played all of the ace combat titles since ace combat 4 and have always been a fan. The crazy gameplay has never dissapointed..........until now. IMO assult horizon is a huge let down to the series. I don't want to go into detail but trust me when I say you are better off buying one or all of the earlier titles. One thing I will say is that the dogfight mode takes all the flying skill out of the dogfighting. It literally flys the plane for you while you shoot, which kinda defeats the purpose of a FLYING simulator...........

Best game of the series
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The game fits the much needed role of an strategy game. The graphics are great, and the combat and controls of the game are easy to use. Overall Bandai/Namco did a great job on the greatest game of the century. I would recommend this game to all console system players. 5 out of 5... Great job.

Best Ace Combat
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the Ace Combat series and flight simulators. So when this one came out I had to have it. I love the fact that you can fly helicopters in this game and that you can create unique paint schemes for your planes.
