Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5This was my first Alexa home speaker and was disappointed at first, but have grown to love it. My kid gets a kick out of speaking with it and its very convenient for other notifications like alarms, ring notifications and just playing music. Only downside is that its not cordless

Delivers on promise of good audio quality
|Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Not ony does the Echo 4th Gen with premium sound have excellent audio quality, it also has a very stylish design. When I first took it out of the package and held it in my hands, I was impressed by its weight. I knew its heft was signalling the amount of magnets it had driving the various speakers. When I powered it up I enjoyed not only the crisp highnotes, but also the rich full sounding bass notes. We have two rooms that kind of sprawl together over the first floor of our house. I've now connected this speaker with two other Echo speakers into one group. Taken together the three speakers fill our first floor with rich sound. The other speakers, an Echo Plus and an Echo Show also have good audio quality, but I give the edge to the Echo 4th Gen with premium sound as the best of the lot.

So far, unimpressed
|Posted .Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.Features
Quality4 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5This is my first full size Echo. I have a 2nd gen Echo Dot and a 3rd gen Echo Dot, so that’s really what I’m comparing this to. So far I’ve been a little unimpressed with it. The sound quality is good and it gets nice and loud, plus I love the new spherical shape. But as far as interacting with Alexa, this is where I have some trouble. If I don’t speak her name clearly and loud enough, she won’t recognize me. With my 3rd gen Echo Dot, I was able to say her name very casually (like a loose conversation with a buddy) and she would hear me — even when speaking at a low volume level and listening to loud music. Maybe that’s due to the new non-360 design? Also, I’ve had some trouble with the Alexa app recognizing my Samsung TV. I was able to turn it off with my Echo Dot, but haven’t been able to do so with the Echo yet. That being said, I mainly just use it to listen to music when I’m in my room. Not sure if that’s worth even the $80 sale price...

Asked by MrAwesome.
- A:Answer Hello, Yes, they all have the premium sound. I think its just the way different retailers list the device. Hope that helps.
