      Great introduction to smart watches

      I wanted a smart watch and wanted the new one, however for the price of the second generation stainless steel I was not sure I really needed the water proof. although tracking laps while he in the pool is cool. I went with the 1st gen, the beauty of the stainless steel was what I desired- I just couldn't spent that much on a plastic looking watch . I am 45 yr old mother. I absolutely love it , I must admit I haven't worn a watch in many years so I thought this would end up in my closet but, not-- I charge it nightly ( I thought that would be an isssue but not). I have lost weight 15 lbs since having the watch(30 days) because I am more conscious of my activity level and I am inspired to meet my goal daily. Being able to move around my home and yard, park, etc without having my cell phone makes it worth every penny. I have small children and a business so I sync my calendar and never miss appointments or school/ church functions or a phone call or e mail. So if your opting for a nice gift for mom go for the stainless steel it complements jewelry well and looks great with all bands I have playful turquoise and mint green for work outs ,classic black for daily and stainless steel for dress. The functionality and speed are good enough , unless your a techy you would never know the difference. I don't swim daily but if I did I would get the newer version.       Apple Care is ok, if you drop your phone or device in a lake and can retrieve it. Or throw it against a wall and smash it. Otherwise they have protocols in place so that it will cost you money as if you dropped it in a lake or smashed it on the ground. They have no way of establishing or proving that the product they sold to you was sealed. So if your device is in a life proof case and never sees water, but the indicator is red then your device has water damage. The fact that side button doesnt move is irrelevant, they have an escape goat. The red indicator, which makes any problem you have, from water damage, to a device that is water resistant, yes not any type of water proof. So a device that is supposed to be sealed with no established priof it ever was is now as their discretion.

      I wouldn't buy an apple product without the apple care. I purchased Apple Care at the time I purchased the i-watch. Several months later, Best Buy cancelled my warranty because they had not submitted the Serial Number to Apple. I had to find my receipt, go to the store 22 miles away, talk to the manager and buy Apple Care again. (Apple could not sell me apple care because the time had passed.) I repurchased it and thought I was covered, but I wasn't covered because Best Buy again failed to register the SN of my watch. Thankfully someone at Best Buy Corp did not cancel the warranty this time but called me to get the serial number. I give this 3 stars only because of the hassle. Otherwise, I definitely would give the warranty 5 stars.Just be sure when you purchase an Apple product and Apple Care that the Best Buy employee records the serial number or otherwise, you are not covered by any warranty.

      When You Are Out Done by Wal Mart.........

      The price on this was decent but the fact there is a deductible stinks. There are a number of retailers whose generic Electronics’ Extended Warranty is far superior. Both Target and Wal Mart have warranties with no deductibles and they both cover accidents. Further, neither have a limit on the number claims you can make. Targets was more expensive at $80 for two years but Wal Mart was $53 for 4 years. Places like Costco and some online retailers had very decent priced and no/low deductible options that were just as good as Apple’s if not better. The reason why I went with AppleCare+ is because I had $200 in gift cards at BB and this was the only place I was considering purchasing the watch.

      This is a must feature you have to get with the Apple Watch. One of the main reasons because you can't add it later you can only get it at the time of purchase with the watch also the watch can get easily damaged especially the kind of person that's getting it or who your giving it to. I'm generally a ver carful person with my stuff and I even got some surface scratches on it. It's also very helpful if it stops taking or holding a charge if it's not responding properly or connecting to your phone. And if your buying it as a gift that is the gift is the apple care it is an absolute and could be a life saver for $49 how could you not get it!

      I purchased this care protection for my loved one after purchasing them an Apple watch for our anniversary just because you never know what could happen but thankfully I haven't had to use it. The plan is to not use it but in case we need it it will be there. The only downfall is the amount of years it's covering. I mean I've purchased other products from chefs knifes to laptops and smart TV's and I've never paid so much for such little coverage. Apple should figure out a reasonable price for lifetime warranty coverage on their products or at least extended warranties especially since you have to pay $69 for a service fee. Will update if I do use it though.

      I purchased this Apple watch for my daughter and she absolutely loves it and the color. I bought her the Rose Gold. It has alot of the same functions of the I-phone but also syncs with the I-phone. She has had so much fun learning all the neat things that it will do. I would recommend getting the face protector and also the extended warranty on the item. We haven't had to use it, but with it being on your wrist, I can see how easily it would be to bump it and accidently break the face or get it wet. Very happy with the purchase and the customer service we received.

      Never Had a Warranty Like This

      Even though my product was exchanged under the manufacturer warranty, our experience with the Geek Squad was Superb. They explained everything and were knowledgeable about the product. Prompt and individual personal service took less than 30 min to verify our issue and complete the exchange. I only wish they were more available as a walk-in service. We were in the area and stopped in and they could not take us for almost an hour on the walk-in. Slightly inconvenient to have to schedule and come back but we were taken on time and completed with no interruptions. That made up for the additional 24 hours to get the appointment.
