Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag - Nintendo Wii U

This was my first AC game. I loved Zombie-U, which was also made by Ubisoft. Though that game was weak on graphics, the innovative gameplay and use of the Wii U's gamepad was immersive. So, I decided to try out another Ubisoft entry. AC3 is a great game. I love the sea battles and the ability to upgrade the ship. The controls work great, the graphics and visuals are outstanding, and the entire thing is well thought out. It doesn't "immerse" you like Zombie-U, but it's a very different type of game with more fun than suspense. I took off a star for a few reasons. First, this game doesn't utilize the Gamepad well. You get a map on the Gamepad's screen, and that's it. Useful, but I can't help but think that Ubisoft gave the Wii U version the short shrift. You also don't get any downloadable content, while the other platforms do. After experiencing what the Gamepad can do in Zombie-U, I couldn't help but be disappointed. Ubisoft really dropped the ball here. I also don't understand the NC-17 language and "other" content. I'm not a prude and appreciate adult content when it enhances the experience, but it felt totally out of place here. Overall, it's a very good game and worth picking up if the only console you own is a Wii U. If you also happen to own one of the other platforms, you might be better off going that route because Ubisoft simply ported the game and didn't take advantage of the Gamepad.

This game features excellent, varied gameplay, from stealth, to combat, to sailing a ship. There is a tremendous amount of content, and the graphics are excellent. The story is engaging and keeps you hooked. Sometimes the voice audio is hard to hear, though, and the game can get a little repetitive after a while. However, the game definitely delivers hours upon hours of engaging, beautiful content.

I got this game on sale for just under $30 a couple of months ago, for the Wii U. Wow, it was pretty awesome. I enjoyed almost everything, and have nearly 100 hours of play time. The only things that bugged me were the loading times, internet requirement for some things, and I grew impatient gathering the needed materials to upgrade my ship. Kenway's Fleet, a sort of mini-game that allows you to build a fleet out of captured ships, and collect money via trade missions, was surprisingly addictive. The only Wii U specific feature I'm aware of, is that a map of the world is displayed on the gamepad while you play. I wish they would have added more touch capability to it, but it was still a nice extra nonetheless. I really enjoyed the pirate references. I live in the middle of the desert, but even I know names like Black Beard, Captain Kidd, and Black Bart. I would definitely recommend this game to anybody that has enjoyed previous Assassin's Creed games, so long as they don't dislike pirates.

I like this game quite a bit. It has nice graphics and is good on the wii u. I like how you can play the main mission or side missions along the way. It can be challenging especially if you are not familiar with the other games. However, it's worth it to play and find out what to do.

After Assassins Creed 3, I was ready to give up on this franchise. Glad I waited until a sale and tried this new version. This game has great characters, story, graphics, gameplay, ect... There is almost nothing wrong with this game. And to say that about a game in this generation, it takes a lot. Pirates and great locations make this a must buy. Hasn't been an Assassins Creed this good since part 2.

Assassin's creed IV: Black Flag marks an excellent addition to the Assassin's Creed franchise. Although the gameplay is superior on the XBOX One or the PS4, the Wii U version is excellent and it is one of the best games for the Wii U. If you enjoy the Assassin's Creed franchise and are looking for a great Wii U game then this is for you.

Great fun game with awesome graphics and story line I would recommend this game for anyone who likes action games with pirates !

Solid game. Lots of fun to play. Too bad ubisoft won't be making any future Assassins Creed games for the Wii U.
