This game has it all. A high speed chase that is one of the best openings to any game I’ve played, fun versatile combat, entertaining co-op, investigations what will make you think out of the box and a thrilling story involving different dimensions, missing persons, a ton of mechanic adversaries and more. Game of the year along with Luigis Mansion 3 for me.

I went into this game with high expectations and it surpassed my wildest dreams! Right from the start you are thrown in to a beautiful game with steady frame rate in hand held mode on the NINTENDO SWITCH! I can’t forget to mention that the game sound and music were immersive and relaxing! I played this game half in handheld and the other half docked!! Best game in about 30 hours! Can’t wait to replay soon!

i been playing this game for hours and i like it. i love the art style, the controls are great and feels good and the gameplay is awesome. there is a learning curve to get through at first and once you get past that the game is a blast to play. it's great on dock mode and port mode and i use both when i'm at home i go dock and i'm out i play portable. the one thing people should know is that this is a deep action game. if you put it down and don't play for a couple of days you will forget the game controls. it's that type of game. be aware of that. i miss the days when all you need to remember is the A button to shoot and the B button to jump. these days actions are so complicated you need to know how to code to understand how to play it. j/k of course, but you know what i mean. if you like action games and you are a switch owner you cannot past up Astral Chain. it's a must buy at best buy ;)

Ok, i'll start of by saying "this game is awesome!"
Gushing statement aside there are a few rocky spots to this game. Most of which come from weird translations and culture issues. The main problems show up during the investigation portions of the game. I don't want to give to much away but at the end of each investigation you'll be asked for your findings and some of the questions they ask are translated in a way that makes the right answer unclear. There's also some people may be turned off by the fact that there's a clear stop to the action every time you go investigate. That's not really a bad think but could turn some off to the game.
Now the good.
Music= awesome
Controls=Fighting controls are simple at first; almost to the point your like "is that it?". Then you get your legion and start unlocking skills and it becomes almost too much to remember everything you can do.
Visuals=some hate it, some love it. I like some parts hate others. I like the art style for Ark i don't like the bland red textures of the other world.
Story= good but there are some issues but i won't spoil it for you.
All in all, if you're a fan of action games like devil may cry or bayonetta, and investigation games like heavy rain or deadly premonitions; you might love this game.

I typically purchase nintendo first party games, lots of Mario, Luigi, Zelda etc. Astral Chain was a stretch for me but I'm so happy I took the plunge. The unique story, combined with a hype soundtrack and some intense combat kept me coming back for more. There is immense depth through customizations, battle strategies and non combat puzzles. A bit of a learning curve to get started and the chapters can run a little long if you like to play all the way through like I do. All and all a worthy new addition and a break from the norm.

I expect solid game play and over the top battles in Platinum game titles...and Astral Chain doesn't disappoint. I usually limit my game play to an hour or two per session. However, I find myself absorbed in the game and three hours pass before I know it. Story is fun, controls are solid, graphics are colorful, the action is a mix of relaxed and frantic. I hope they develop a sequel.
