The original 1973 pressing was the first complete album recorded without the recently deceased Duane Allman and Berry Oakley. This album also saw the addition of Chuck Leavell on piano and Lamar Williams on bass. Dickey Betts remained solo on lead guitar and shared vocal duties with Gregg Allman. Reinvention didn't slow the band down at all, as they scored huge hits on InchRamblin' ManInch and InchJessica.Inch The album peaked at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart, with InchRamblin' ManInch stalling out at #2 on the Hot 100 Singles chart and InchJessicaInch topping out at #65 on the same chart.
