Great
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.Picked this up because our old pot (different brand) didn’t brew hot coffee. I’ve also been wanting one that had network capability. My wife just wanted one that didn’t look cheap. This one filled all the blanks. The good: looks great! Feels solid and feels solid and quality. Makes great HOT coffee. Didn’t realize our old brewer wasn’t really bringing out the flavor like this one. On days it’s not programmed like weekends, I am able to start it from bed on my phone with the app but couldn’t get Alexa to work even after installing two different skills. Not big deal tho, probably wouldn’t ever use that function anyway. My only real complaint is that I have is the carafe. It’s really great except mine has had something rattling around inside from the time we unpacked it. Sounds like little BBs that are loose in there just above base. That’s a bummer for a $300+ appliance. I do recommend otherwise.

Perfect Coffee
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. As James Bond said in Goldfinger: “...some things just aren’t done..like drinking Dom Perigion ‘53 above 36F....”. Well, you don’t need to be a secret agent to enjoy world class coffee: this stylish and secretly GE coffee maker. Super fast, super sleek and most importantly: delivers coffee at the proper temperature around 200F. You won’t taste a better cup of coffee. Just do this now and won’t regret it!

Beautiful machine and great coffee maker
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. We have several cafe appliances and we love them all, stunning design and very well built. This coffee machine has been a great addition to our kitchen and makes a really great coffee. It’s got also many different settings to create your perfect cup but we mostly use the “Gold” preset. The only thing that bothers me is the water tank that gets foggy after coffee is brewed. Adding a little vent to the cover or a little slot at the top end of the water tank wall would solve the problem and would be a nice design improvement.

Best Cafe Coffee Machine!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Worth every penny! My wife and I absolutely love this coffee machine! We’ve owned everything from cheap $50 Kurig to the more expensive brands and decided to give Cafe a try and we LOVE this thing! The difference in taste of the coffee itself is much more bold and so flavorful that we don’t even need syrup at times. This is money definitely well spent and I definitely stand by Cafe and this coffee machine. I even purchased the Geek Squad 2 year protection, which is obviously worth it as Best Buy will replace when any issues arrive and not worry about repairs.

Great smart features, fast brewing
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. The kettle quality is very good. The built in features are easy to understand and use. The brewing is fast and is able to make perfect coffee. This review has 4 stars instead of 5 is because there is improvement in setting up the Wi-Fi/connection capability, along with linking to Alexa or Google. The product itself is beautiful, a bold statement in your modern day kitchen!

Corroding handle
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed.Handle started corroding after less than a year. Too expensive for something that can fall apart that quickly.

What’s with the grounds?
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed.I wanted to love this coffee maker, I really did. And to be honest, I’m going to probably keep it but it is so frustrating that every time I make coffee, the grounds overflow and often times get into my coffee. The funny thing is that I’m using less coffee than they recommend. Other than that, the coffee comes out great. It doesn’t always feel enjoyable when you’re spitting out the grounds that wash up on your cup. Beautiful design, just not functional. 20 minutes to clean the coffee grounds mess, every morning is no fun.

Posted .Hi there, thank you for bringing this to our attention. We're pleased to know your unit is making great coffee, but we're very sorry to hear that your coffee maker has been overflowing. We can imagine how annoying this gets and we're happy to help. There is always going to be some level of coffee ground and oils that splash back onto the showerhead lid when the maximum level of coffee grounds is used. What you want to avoid is having the coffee grounds overflow into your coffee in the carafe. Here are a few causes for overflow, and some ways to avoid it: 1) Your coffee maker comes with a gold mesh basket filter in the brew basket insert. You can use a No. 4 paper filter instead, but using both the mesh filter and a paper filter will cause grounds to overflow into the basket insert or could splash coffee grinds and residue on the underside of the lid. 2) We recommend using a medium-grind coffee, when possible. A finer grind is more likely to lead to an overflow of coffee grounds. 3) We also recommend using the scoop that comes with your coffee maker, and use a flush level of grounds. Heaping scoops can lead to too much coffee grounds and can potentially cause overflows. We hope you find this information useful and we're wishing you the best. - Guy@GEA
Q: QuestionJust received the Cafe coffee maker. Has anyone figured out how to remove the brew basket insert? It is part "H" on page 5 in the owner's manual.
Asked by Catman.
- A:Answer Hello Catman - Thank you for your question; we are glad to assist. There is a finger hole at the front of the brew basket to aid with removal. The basket is snapped in to keep it tight to prevent it from shifting when the carafe is removed. Thanks for checking. Olga@Café

Q: QuestionWhere do I find a replacement carbon filter?
Asked by MM.
This question was asked about the related product: Café - Smart Drip 10-Cup Coffee Maker with Wi-Fi - Matte White
- A:Answer Yes, I received the same response from Cafe when calling them yesterday. They did agree to send me one carbon filter free. Although the item shows out of stock on the website, they actually do have a large supply of on hand. You just can't purchase them. Further, the price they want to charge for the replacement carbon filter is $5 each which is really excessive. On other coffee pots I've owned, specifically Cuisinart, the brand name carbon filters are more like $7-8 for a 12 pack with free 2-day delivery through Amazon. This was quite disappointing to discover. Problem is, the filters for this coffee maker are not a standard size. I certainly hope they resolve this issue. Other than that, the coffee pot is amazing! It brews the best coffee!

Q: QuestionI am brewing coffee at 205 and it’s not as hot as expected. Would this mean maybe an issue with the device? I just bought 5 days ago. I have to microwave for about 20 seconds to get to the perfect temp.
Asked by Temperature.
This question was asked about the related product: Café - Smart Drip 10-Cup Coffee Maker with Wi-Fi - Matte White
- A:Answer Hello, Thank you for reaching out to us regarding this amazing drip coffee maker. I'm sorry to hear that your coffee is not as hot as expected, we can understand your frustrations. The temperature setting is based on the temperature of the water when they contact the coffee grounds. The temperature will be lower in the carafe at the end of the brew. Because of this, checking the temperature with a thermometer is not an accurate way to verify temperature. This being said, we would like to recommend increasing the temperature a small amount to see if this helps. If you have any other questions please feel free to reach out to us over email or social media. -Avery

Q: QuestionDoes the water ever touch plastic in this coffee maker?
Asked by Kim.
- A:Answer Well, yeah. The water reservoir is plastic, as is the hot water drip lid, as is the brewing cone, as is the top of the thermal canister. And this are the parts that I can see. I expect the tubing inside the machine is probably plastic, also.

Q: QuestionI noticed the cost recently jumped up significantly from $279 to $349. I’m very impressed with this machine, but $349 is steep. Will this be going on sale anytime soon? Thanks so much.
Asked by Shane.
- A:Answer 279 was the sale price. 349 is the retail price. Best Buy was the only one on sale over the holiday.
