Great camera upgrade
||Posted .I purchased this camera as an upgrade to my Canon 60D. I've been very pleased with the image quality, especially in low light. I chose this camera, after reading reviews from people that shoot similar settings. I am predominately an action photographer (HS & Junior High football/Volleyball/Basketball... Etc..) The low light issues in gyms, as well as outdoor night games is a challenge. This camera provides the speed (Fps) to keep up with the action, as well as limiting the noise in my shots. Since it's a crop sensor, my lens can reach out farther, & the Fps is faster.. If I were predominately a "Portrait" photographer, I would entertain a full sensor camera.

Great updates
||Posted .Some nice updates to a real workhorse prosumer DSLR. I’m doing real estate photography and wanted to upgrade my EOS 40D (which still is used daily by the way!) I love that I can set up everything and compose the shot using live view through my iPad Pro. Auto bracketing for HDR is really nice too. I was at first really torn between the 80D and the 5D for a couple hundred more. I really wanted to have the full frame sensor, and I have several EF lenses, but the specs were just so much better on the 80 that I ended up going with it instead. If you’re looking for a new camera, or want to upgrade your Rebel and already have a crop sensor (EF-S) lens, you won’t be disappointed!

Worth every penny!
||Posted .Worth every penny!after extensively researching many cameras, I found this camera to be the best fit for me. When using this camera, coming from a T5, The difference could be seen immediately! When filming the videos (YouTube) The auto focus is nothing short of amazing. The auto focus is almost instant and you do not hear the camera struggled to focus when doing so. It's a smooth transition. Worth every penny! I would highly recommend this!!!

Great Camera.
||Posted .I took my EOS 80d and a set of Canon lenses to a two weeks travel in Iceland. It worked perfectly and its shots were amazing ( good sharpness , saturation and contrast) . It was very easy to learn how to get the most from the camera since Canon's menu is very clear and simple. Very satisfied with it .

Solid Choice
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.Upgraded from a T1i that was showing signs of slowing down. All of my lenses fit, and it's wonderful to experience all of the improvements and upgrades! The focusing system is interesting and takes some getting used to. Sometimes I find that it's easier to manually focus. This camera in general makes it easier to do things manually than the T1i did. Took it on a trip to Utah and it created amazing images!

For The Pro
||Posted .I am a pro product photographer and shot this quickly with my Canon 80D in a controlled environment. The lens I am using is a Tamron 90mm 1:1 f/2.8 Macro. The proof is in the pudding and as you can see from my photos the images are perfect.

Perfect Upgrade To Rebel Series
||Posted .I do a lot of indoor AND outdoor shooting and had been using the Canon T3i. The 80D is a big improvement on low light shots (see pic) and tracking birds in flight!

Great Middle Level Camera
||Posted .For those looking to step their game up from the Rebel series, this is a great choice. A sturdier build, excellent still photo and movie featured camera. I made a mistake and sold this camera a year ago but recently looked back into my picture collection I had shot with different cameras. Each time I would look at the metadata for the pictures that I loved all over again, each picture ended up coming from the 80D. Very easy camera to learn how to use. Just don’t read the manual. Stick with YouTube for that.

Q: QuestionWhat lenses do you recommend for a starter package?
Asked by Nancy.
- A:Answer I have a canon 60D for the last 6 years. It is the first in the 60D/70D/80D family. It came with the CANON 18-135 IS ZOOM LENS - which is a good all around lens - sharp with good range. After a couple years I wanted a bit more range and bought a TAMRON 18-270 DII VC ZOOM LENS - a bit heavier and stiffer to work - but incredible range - and sharp pictures. Great image stabilization. Fantastic for Air Shows and distant objects - it has become my lens of choice for the camera. It is the top rated zoom on the market - costs $350 - $425 on the internet. It is better and cheaper than the CANON 18-200 IS ZOOM LENS. The TAMRON 16-300 VC ZOOM LENS - may be better for about $600. Avoid any lens with a range that starts at 28 mm - such as 28 -80 mm or 28-135 mm. The wide end will not be wide enough in a lot of situations. Skip the two lens kits 18-55mm and 55-250 mm with the camera, unless you want to carry two lenses and be swapping them out constantly - instead of cranking the zoom and shooting the picture. Changing lenses in wet or dusty weather is not good for either lens or camera. The 18-55mm lens will be too limiting in range. Always get a lens with image stabilization. IS for CANON, VC for TAMRON. Image stabilization is an absolute must for sharp pictures with any telephoto lens. The canon 80D is a terrific camera - but only as good as the lens you put on it.

Q: QuestionCan you set focus to spot when in sports mode
Asked by M.
- A:Answer I just purchased the 80D about a month ago. I was using a 50D previously. I used center point on the 50D for my kids soccer. With the 80D I actually went to a center grouping of 9 focus point and have been very happy with the results. (More Keepers, less missed focus shots) I don't know for sure if you can select the center point in sport mode I usually shoot in AV TV or M. You can definitely select center point in those others Use sport mode and take a photo, review that photo and use av, tv or M with the same settings. I usually will shoot soccer with the following in AV (80D 70-200mm+1.4x teleconverter) Iso 400, Aperture 4.0 ( the camera will vary shutter speed to properly expose) Try to keep shutter speed at least 1/500 bump iso up if you need more shutter speed Good Luck and Happy Shooting

Q: QuestionThe specs on the Canon EOS 80D camera say "Integrated GPS: Adaptable." What exactly does that mean? Is there an accessory for this function, because I don't see any other reference to GPS, even from Canon's website. Thanks.
Asked by rcpfaff.
- A:Answer It is not included but you can purchase an external GPS or hook up your phone through the Cannon Connect app; the camera can get date/time and GPS from your phone!
