I needed all my usual HP 564 refills, and I always have gone directly to my local BB {where I purchased my laptop, printer, etc.} whenever I've needed the cartridges. However, for $$ sake, I decided to try Walmart for the first time instead. Being a usual satisfied Walmart customer, I went online, ordered all "5" colors, and had to wait till the next day to go for my local pick-up order---however, at least the 'Price Looked RIGHT'. Nope, WRONG!!!!! Not only was the quality inferior for some reason, but these "exact" HP products that I installed showed up on the printer read-out as "error", etc. I NEVER had that happen BEFORE!! So I immediately went online to check out BB and saw that their pricing was competitive, and luckily all was in stock for immediate pick-up that same day...all is well, and printer is purring away!!

I've had different printers but I always go back to the HP's. When buying ink, go for the XL - extra large - cartridges as they're a smarter way to buy & save your money vs. regular size. HP inks do what they are supposed to do - brilliant color & clarity.. Best Buy is the only place I buy my inks. Great prices & great service - I buy on-line and pick up in store. It's the easiest & most convenient way to buy when you know what you want & you just want to go into the store and pick up your item without hassles or having to walk around to get your item. Get more cash back by starting at upromise.com, and shopping Best Buy through there, where they give you up to 5% of your purchase back in cash through their partnership with Best Buy.

I've been pretty happy with these ink cartridges. I've been buying them for 4 different HP printers (myself, my mom, and two daughters). They do tend to run out quickly, so I began buying the most expensive XL's just to minimized the number of trips to buy new ones. Obviously, all ink cartridges are overpriced, which these at or near the top of that heap. And they really should compensate buyers if they choose to recycle old cartridges to offset costs of new cartridges. But its a racket that has been going on for many many years and is unlikely to change anytime soon. I've often wondered if the printer ink liquid, ounce for ounce, is far more expensive than high end perfumes but have never done the math on it.

    OEM Ink Cheaper than HP

I have 3 printers that take 564 ink, so any time I can save a bit I jump at it. HP even lets you know you can buy from Best Buy, and BB is several $$$ cheaper than HP. Shipping is free from either, so lower price wins. I could buy at the Navy Exchange, tax free, but that requires a 12-mile round trip with attendant time, fuel, and vehicle wear expenditures. Of course I could use aftermarket ink refills, but I've never had much luck with them. All things considered, this was the best option.

Typically I purchase ink cartridge refills at Costco, but decided that for my Christmas letter I wanted to buy new ones. Purchased them from the Best Buy in Brighton (my favorite of the nearby Best Buy stores!) and what a difference! The print is so much crisper and easier to read than the refills - - although, I will probably continue to use refills for my less important day-to-day printing needs. Recommend you treat yourself to these brand new cartridges every once in a while!

Once you enter this into a printer, you can not switch it to another printer. This means every time you run out of a color and have two printers taking the same number cartridge you cannot replace it if you already loaded it into another. Guess they are tagged with the original insertion. This makes for a lot of expense, cheaper to buy a new printer!

Unfortunately my HP 6520 printer just stops printing when any of the four ink cartridges are low. This HP 564 XL installation started the printer working again. The installation of this cartridge is easy although there are no instructions in the box. Pull the tab, rip the wrapper off the cartridge and twist the orange handle to expose the ink and install.

I have a HP printer and tried the cheap online cartridges but they caused an error message and wouldn't print so I had to waste time sending them back. HP ink print quality is great and they do last, bottom line buy the good stuff and you don't have to worry if they'll work. It's not worth the aggravation.
