Five stars. Probably just four. But Five from me.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ive never been a critical person. Especially to music. People create the music they want and I feel stupid telling them they are wrong. I have been a fan of this band since high school. They were always one of my favorites. They have a great sound! So I was let down when I heard they were getting a new singer. On top of that the singer for My Darkest Days...WHAT!!? Ugh. I hated the singles for this. But I couldn't help myself but buy the cd. I hated it. I put it down and was angry at the band. (ok not really, but I wasn't happy with the cd lol). Then I decided to pick it back up and give it an honest chance. Im glad I did because this is a really solid release to be honest. It may not be classic. But it is a very good album. Buy it. Be open minded. Give it a shot. Pretend its a completely new band and you will love it.

Decent but not spectacular debut with new singer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For someone whom has never listened to Three Days Grace before, this will probably come across as a decent, albeit run-of-the-mill rock album - for someone more familiar with the band's previous recordings, I could see this album being a disappointment. Adam Gontier was a hard vocalist to replace given the many hits that the band plastered the airwaves with during his tenure - though Matt Walst is a serviceable singer, the fit just seems off. The lead singles "Painkiller" and "I Am Machine" are okay tracks, and the latest single "Human Race" has a little bit different atmosphere to it that has grown on me, although I could see it being a major flop in the eyes of those previous TDG fans. The rest of the album just doesn't feel very memorable - I find myself usually wanting to listen to a new album several consecutive times to discover little nuances that I originally missed, but my first listen did not do much to motivate me toward that purpose. I applaud the band for moving forward and I hope that they continue to find success - although I am not sorry I bought the album because I was very curious about their sound with Walst, I can't say that I would heartily recommend this album with so many other options out there on the rock circuit.

Give it a chance
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I thought "painkiller" was ok. I thought "I am the machine" was meh. And "human" was awful. I am a huge fan of the band and I was a little disappointed about the whole change in singers. Then I found out the new singer is the brother of the guitar player I decided to give it a shot. My first couple times listening to it I thought it was okay but it's definitely grown on me. It's a really good cd.

A new direction
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is no longer the Three Days Grace of the past. Matt Walst is a worthy successor to Adam Gontier, but some of the songs on the album just don't sound like 3DG. This singles are fantastic though. Any die-hard 3DG fan will probably dislike Walst, but this album is somewhat reminiscent to the old 3DG.

Finally!!!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.this album to me was perfect. Yes it has a new singer and has the brother of Adam. But the style with the music is what I have been waiting for since one X. Hopefully they keep going with this style and I do support Matt Walst as their singer. Just hopefully he does another my darkest days album sometime soon

Strong album with new singer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really worried about how this album might turn out with a new lead singer. Music history would give 50/50 odds. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The first radio single "Chalk Outline" got my hopes up and I wasn't disappointed. Strong album on par with their previous work.

My favorite band!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Three Days Grace has been my favorite band since high school, so I was very excited when they announced they were releasing a new album even after the lead singer had been replaced. Really enjoy this CD, you will love the songs! My favorites are Painkiller & Landmine.

Good album from TDG
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was kind of nervous considering this was a new lead singer for this band, but it's a great addition to any TDG fan's collection. Sounds like they're trying to go back to more "hard" rock from the first album TDG released.
