Love my Instant Pot

Can cook from frozen meats, but be cautious. Get a time cheat sheet, or use Google. Haven't tried making a cake yet, but will soon. Be aware that it does not come with accessories.

Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i bought this instant pot on 2/15/2023. i used it to do the recommended water test then cooked white rice in it. when i opened the lid after cooking the rice i noticed rusty spots on the rim of the cooker. it looks like the protective enamel coating had been chipped off the cooker on each of the 6 areas circled in the photo. this should have been caught in quality control at the manufacturer. shame on them.

Best Instant Pot yet

I was worried at first because the power cord is thinner like a regular lamp cord and not the heavy duty one on the older models. But it turns out this model heats up much faster. The steam release valve seals automatically when you close the lid and releasing it is much easer, safer, and way more quieter. With built in handles on the inner pot is so nice to have. No more pot holders dipping into the contents while you try to be agile when removing the pot. Those handles also stay cool enough to lift the pot out with out mitts. The programming is a little confusing at first but in time it becomes second nature. The look of the unit is downright sexy. The solid black exterior looks great on my black granite. I can't vouch for reliability because it's only a few months old. For now this is a real winner.

I am very happy with this size for two people! It's not mini by any means. Just getting started learning the IP world, but so far I'm very happy with it and all the features the Pro offers.

Automatically seals when locked. Lid holder on rim. Vent shield to prevent steam burns. Presets for frequently used foods. Saute function saves using and cleaning another pan. Still a learning curve on how long to cook some foods. Might get an 8 qt in the future!

- A:Answer Thanks for reaching out, Sue! Our Instant Pot Pro does have a sterilize function. With regards to Pressure Canning, the Instant Pot Max and Pro Plus models are safe to use as a tool for pressure canning. Test data confirms that the Max and Pro Plus models operate at required temperature ranges that can perform canning of the entire spectrum of foods as per USDA home canning guidelines. It is important that recipes are closely followed when canning. Modifying cooking times, procedures, ingredients, or temperatures can be dangerous. Please follow the USDA published guidelines & recipes for home canning. The “Low Pressure” setting on the Instant Pot Max and Pro Plus can sustain a temperature range of 230-231°F / 110 - 111°C for canning of high-acid foods. The “Max Pressure” setting on the Instant Pot Max and Pro Plus can sustain a temperature range of 242-247°F / 116 - 119°C for canning of low-acid foods. USDA canning instructions for high-acid foods are based on a 212°F / 100°C setting, and low-acid foods are based on a 240°F / 115°C setting. The Instant Pot Max and Pro Plus canning settings operate at higher temperatures for extra safety. Certain foods may appear overcooked. The canning guidelines are based on the condition of up to 4,921ft / 1500 m altitude. At higher altitudes, the steam release may be activated to control the internal pressure to a safe level. The real-time display of the internal temperature will indicate to the user whether the desired safe canning temperature can be sustained. Users should observe this important guideline (or restriction) to ensure food safety in the home canning experience.
