42-inch C4 Is Exceptional for Gaming

Excellent features, decent brightness in all conditions, good image processing, and Dolby Vision, 144hz for PC gaming are all points that made this my first choice to replace a 1440p 27" IPS monitor. My only reservation is the green tint... for that, I am returning one C4 and ordering another. Hopefully this is just a random manufacturing issue as some users have said.

42" is a great TV for gaming!!!

The 42" LG C4 (Non "MLA" panel) I purchased is used primarily for Windows 11 gaming, with some console gaming occasionally . The C4 is very light at just over 22 pounds, and is a great size..I sit about 2.5 feet away and there has been no problems. Setup was easy, and I put it on a desktop mount with an VESA adapter(Sold Separately) as the TV is 300 x 200mm VESA. Coming from a 1440p LED Ultrawide 144hz. with very high brightness, and grayish blacks.. the LG C4 took about a week to get use to. But after that 1st week I am in love with this TV, yes it's NOT perfect (you DO sacrifice overall brightness) but that is not a deal breaker. Using the LED Ultrawide(High Brightness) for years took a toll on my eyes, they were constantly hurting and red. With the C4 that has gone away even after gaming for 5+ hours. 144hz gaming on Windows 11 is really nice with the C4, make sure you turn it on as it is not automatic out of the box. Also in the "Game Optimizer" menu turn on G-Sync, FreeSync, 144hz, and ALLM on as the C4 will choose the best supported tech when gaming. Most people pick QD-OLED's or WOLED w/MLA, and that may have been my pick, but they do NOT make them in 42" or 48" sizes in 2024...but the 42" C4 is still a top pick OLED!! The C4 has color, has brightness, has clarity, has features and Dolby Vision. Lastly, my final thoughts...I am not worried about burn in as I find ways to turn it off when not using, and use the "cleaning" functions after gaming sessions. ABL(Auto Brightness Limiter) on OLED's is a fact of life and it worried me in the beginning, but it is not bothering me at all. The ABL on the C4 dims when appropriate to save my eyes is the way I look at it. If you want an OLED that's not 1440p or just 32" the LG C4 is an excellent pick, and the only thing that I am not happy with is the MSRP, but I can't change that.
