There are some online sources which credit Love, Simon with being the first film released by a major Hollywood studio to focus on teenage gay romance. That might come as a surprise to Lionsgate, which released Moonlight over a year ago, a film which at least tangentially touched on a gay relationship, and there are any number of other (often international) films which have had teen gay aspects, as in the interesting Brazilian film The Way He Looks. So, I'm not sure if Love, Simon really and truly deserves the huge "Groundbreaking!" pull quote that adorns its back cover, especially since the film tends to shirk from some of the harrowing emotional difficulties many LGBTQ kids have experienced. That said, Love, Simon is undeniably heartfelt and really kind of sweet and emotionally resonant, helped by some breezy dialogue and good performances by the principal cast. Technical merits are solid, and Love, Simon comes Recommended.

I loved that nick Robinson played a gay character in this movie. Call me crazy but I’ve always fantasized him being gay xD seeing him crushing on a boy and kissing one made me happy haha. but anyways the movie was pretty fantastic and well screenwriten from book to screen. this is going to be a classic someday. I loved the feeling of the story because I can relate to it. when I was in the closet it kinda was interesting no one knowing that I was gay so sneaking around was pretty fun. but there was times that it wasn’t fun like the time that I came out...I was forced to come out. but now my family accepts me. I’m so happy I bought this and I will cherish it forever!

This film is a different kind of love story. It deals with issues that are current today. It would have been a lot easier on Simon if he was able to talk to his parents more freely. Simon wasn't able to share his secret love with his friends either. The movie was very well produced. I also enjoyed The Fault In Our Stars by the same producers. The suspense of the online other person was great. The bedroom scene really throws the watcher off until the very end of the movie. A feel good film that is a must see in my book.

This movie has given me a different perspective on thi current generation of Younger people. When did it become so difficult to grow up in America? This movie made me think about the undue pressure parents and adults unconsciously place on our children and their friends. This film made me stop and think about life growing up now, when compared to when I was young (and dinosaurs roamed the earth). My how the world has changed. Watch this with someone you love. I.M. A funny, touching, maybe overly sweet romcom

This is a romantic comedy about 17 year olds finding themselves and a special partner, sorting out their sexual identities in the process. Everybody is decent and usually thoughtful in dealing with being gay or befriending someone who is. Maybe everybody is a bit too understanding and thoughtful to reflect the current real world, but one might hope that the acceptance portrayed is where the real world is going in the near future. It's a hopeful, funny movie.

It's INCONCEIVABLE that this entertaining movie is 30 years old already. I had a Best Buy rewards certificate to use and along with a little cash, chose this movie to add to my collection. A nice movie with a happy ending. It's INCONCEIVABLE anyone hasn't seen this yet - but if you haven't, please check it out. The DVD arrived on time and played flawlessly. Thanks, Best Buy!

I saw this movie (Love, Simon) in the theatre earlier this year - and knew right away it was one I wanted to have in my personal collection. So when it came out, I turned to Best Buy to order a copy. It arrived EARLIER than promised and was PERFECT in every way. Thank you for getting it here and allowing me to see it multiple times and add it to my home collection.

This was everything I was hoping for. The movie was sweet and handled the coming out story of this character well for our modern day. I enjoyed the movie heavily. I did not read the book so I can't judge whatever changes were made. The performance of Nick Robinson was believable and strong. It really made the movie all it could be.
