Mad Catz - Rock Band 3 Gaming Musical Keyboard

I preordered this item along with Rock Band 3 and I love it. The keyboard is very well made and the keys feel like you are playing a standard keyboard. The game play is very easy to pick up in the standard Rock Band mode. Pro mode is much more of a challenge but very realistic. There is a MIDI port for those wishing to practice outside of the game, however, I have not tried out this feature. The only negatives I have found are that 1) the keyboard is not available in a bundle with the game for PS3 (all other formats offer the bundle) and 2) the keyboard has only two octaves of keys. The latter was necessary from a practicality standpoint for game play however it limits the functionality of plugging into a MIDI processor and playing on your own.

Awesome product!!! you can play 3 different instruments on this keyboard....keyboards/pro keyboards/guitar & bass...There is a button on the neck which is for overdrive and a censor above that button for a whammy effect...It has 5 color coded piano keys for non pro playing. It's easier to play harder guitar songs on the keyboards because you can put all 5 fingers on the keys versus the 4 fingers on the guitar.

We are having a great time with this keyboard. I am an accomplished keyboard/piano player and my child is taking lessons and both of us can play with this on Rock Band 3 with no problems. It is very accurate and replicates the experience very well. I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a new experience in music gaming.

Only one minor comment. It was not readily apparent that the 5 individual colored keys (for playing on normal/easy mode) are not only executed using the keys that are labeled (keys 8-12), but can also be keys 1-5 (which are not labeled with the individual colors). This is particularly important to know since it allows you to play with two hands.

In Pro-Mode, you can lear to play this stuff like a real keyboard. Same is with Prio-Modes for guitar, bass and drums. Really cool!!!

This is the best added instrument to Rock Band so far! It's easy to play besides some level's on Pro. I love playing Sister Christian, Bohemian Rhapsody and some DLC they have added. I like how you can play the guitar and bass with the keyboard. I wished previous Rock Band download able content were able to play with the keys.

Lots of fun and a small learning experience for kids. Highly recommend for both kids and adults who love music.

I love the keyboard. It brings a whole new aspect to the game.
