A light treatment of a dark topic
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What do you do when you discover you've married a contract killer? To complicate matters, what do you do when your spouse discovers that you're engaged in the same secret occupation? And further, what happens when your own reputation and livelihood--and eventually your life--depends on your killing your spouse? Mr. & Mrs. Smith's deft handling of this dark premise allows the viewer to breathe easy and enjoy the characters' explorations of a what-if scenario that purposefully explodes the boundaries of probability. The movie is intentionally and playfully filled with cliches (e.g., the use of the name Smith to cover true identity) that in less skillful hands would be embarrassing. The writing is clever, and the primary actors clearly had fun in their roles, because we have fun watching them.

Fun, date night movie for gals and guys!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Doug Liman, director of the Bourne Identity, followed up the 2002 surprise hit with another spy movie but this time boosted the comedy and romance factor way up. Angelina and Brad have great on screen chemistry and there is tons of action. The movie even has enough emotional weight so you believe that the 2 killer spies have feelings for each other even though it's a blast to watch them try to silence one another for good. Fantastic picture and massive surround sound on this Blu Ray make this one of the best date night/action rom-coms of the past 20 years and is a nice deal at $5!

||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitts characters are married and find out they work for two competing assassination squad agencies that are assigned to kill each other. What could go wrong? Alot of gun fights and chase scenes.

Good mindless fun...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For those who have already cast away any expectations for anything approaching originality while maintaining enough of a connection with reality to keep it from falling completely off the edge, this one stills registers on the edge of the radar... Barely. Pitt and Jolie's constant bantering is amusing throughout, and the overall premise is previously uncharted in my memory. As with most action flicks, few will walk away from it feeling that they've totally wasted the time spent etching it on their cortex.

Brangelina Begins
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is way funnier than I remembered. Being married I see what the film's point is: Love is a battlefield. Quick jabs at one another, exposing little secrets. How well do we know our partner? Brad's performance was a little flat, since his character is a little flat. But this is a mindless Hollywood film. Go in this nkt expecting a retrospective into American marriages and more of a fun silly boy vs girl film.

Mr. & Mrs. Smith [Blu-ray, 2005]
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Mr. & Mrs. Smith [Blu-ray, 2005] is one of the funniest action movies that I've ever seen, and it's the best movie that the two great actors, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, did together. It's good for repeat watching, especially for when you need just a fun, pick-me-up.

Almost There
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a really fun movie, along the same lines as "True Lies" the only real downside to the film is it basically doesn't have an ending. It's just sort of stops, and seeing as how the real life couple have called it splitzville, that and the 13 years since it's release doesn't make a sequel very likely. Still fun and worth a look if you haven't seen it already

Great Couples Movie - Action & Romance
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Another great couples movie about a couple leading a seemingly boring married life until their undercover secrets are revealed. Although this is not the Unrated Version (that apparently has additional 6 minutes of cut scenes), it is still very enjoyable if you and your significant other could suspend your disbelief over a bowl of popcorn and just enjoy. Great alternative to going out to the movies.
