Unfortunately, based on my experience, a subscription to Microsoft Office 365 needs to be purchased separately for use on both Mac and Windows. Thankfully, their online versions (accessible via a browser) are free to use, but if you prefer to access your documents offline, then the subscription is your best option. Hope this helps!
