“What is the meaning of the size (27 inch) for the kit. Does that cover a 27 inch opening? How do you determine the height? I have a PES7227sl1ss microwave. The cavity opening is 28 1/2 by 16 3/4. Do I need a 30" kit?”

Kit design is poor. It is too big for a normal 27" hole. You have to make modifications!!!!!! Exact dimentions should be given in GE's site.

It is compatible with GE® Required 27" Built-In Trim Kit JX7227SLSS and GE® Required 30" Built-In Trim Kit JX7230SLSS. 27" and 30" is the cabinet width (not cutout).
