Yes, this item accommodates TVs up to 65 inches.

The stand will accommodate a 65” tv, but the stand itself measures 54” in width and a 65” tv measures 57.5 in width. So 50” wall width is not enough.

the stand is 54 inches but my 65 inch tv is like 58 inches straight across.

I have my TV mounted and it works fine. I would say if you were going to place it on the stand it may depend on the TV's stand itself.

The width of the tv stand is 54" Note you have the option to use the mount on the wall instead of the stand. I have my 65" mounted to the stand and the tv over hangs a couple inches on each side.
