A:AnswerIn my case the geek squad protection ran concurrently with the machines original warranty. It did not start at the end of the original warranty. Apparently the geek squad warranty covers some things that the original warranty doesn't. I think the original warranty was one year.

A:AnswerI haven’t had this problem with this machine but I did have it with a previous machine so maybe this will help. Mine wouldn’t lock and I got the same error message. Mine was a top loader so I leaned on the top and put some weight on and it was able to lock and worked good. Try that and if it works then the top is not going down all the way. If not then maybe it is going down too far.
