• The closed captioning works great on this model. Subtitles are similar but generally come from the source device and the TV has no control over those. This model has composite (red/white/yellow) and coaxial connections, which should allow for easy connection of her VCR.

• The tv has a standard coax connection so you should be able to connect a VCR without a problem
