“Does this tv have a built in antenna or would it require an antenna to get local channels if you don't have cable?”

• There’s no internal antenna, I hooked up a antenna that I have attached to my window to get some locals ,not all come in depends on the area you’re in, I have directv so I only use the external as a back up

• This model does not have a built-in antenna...you must purchase one to enable the TV's ATSC tuner to be able to pick up your local channels.

• TVs only have built-in tuners, not antennas. I'm 5 miles from the TV towers and still need a small indoor antenna.

• Everything in the User Manual implies there is no built-in antenna but it never says there isn't. But there isn't any reason to think there is one. Look at pages 42 & 43 in the online manual for this model.
