Ok guys, here's my complete thoughts & impressions on my Vizio V436-G1 TV. I've had this TV for almost two weeks now and so far I've been quite impressed for the price around here. This TV replaced my almost two year old LG 43UJ6300 which was an alright television but obviously due to the nature of IPS technology the black levels weren't that great & neither was the contrast, plus the HDR on there I couldn't really tell much difference between HDR and SDR content. This Vizio on the other hand I felt the blacks were much better than the LG as expected from a VA-based TV, contrast is fine too, and the HDR despite only 400 peak brightness even the HDR I felt it was better on the Vizio than my previous LG TV. The 10 local dimming zones on the G1 version of the Vizio V-series TV actually does help out with the dark scenes of different movies & video games, you'll be hard pressed to find anything better around the same price, even putting the TCL 5 series to shame a little bit. I've tested many things on the TV from gaming (I play Xbox One X) to watching movies (both disc and streaming) and so forth, and again for the price the Vizio V436-G1 performed pretty well on almost all of them. On gaming, the input lag is low 99.99% of time and you'll be glad to see that this TV supports HDR10 (the standard dominating format), Dolby Vision (Dolby's HDR format that's considered better than HDR10 because of 12-bit colors and the higher 4000 nits vs just 1000 nits on HDR10) and HLG, sadly as expected from Vizio the upscaling of 480i, 480p, and even 720p content don't look that great, everything's more soft-looking for some reason, 1080p and 4K content look awesome though. The Smart TV functionality on the Vizio is mostly average at best, while TCL has Roku, Hisense & Sony have Android TV, and LG & Samsung both have their own respective OS systems, Vizio decides to go with Chromecast-based OS system, and to be kinda fair with you I'm not a huge fan of it. It does have decent amount of apps to choose from like Netflix, Youtube, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, Vudu, Crackle, FandangoNow, even Youtube TV is here, and among others. Anyways, I found Vizio's Smart TV system to be fairly slow & laggy but serviceable most of the time, if you're not a fan of it like me, you can always purchase a Firestick, Roku, or Apple TV for your streaming duties, I use Roku Ultra around here. When I did test out Vizio's Smartcast OS, I was shocked & very happy to see Netflix on there not only support Dolby Vision but also Dolby Atmos on content that is mixed in that immersive audio format, and surprise surprise the lossy Atmos passthrough worked on my Denon receiver, you obviously need to set the TV's audio out to "Auto" or "Bitstream" to get it going, lossy Dolby Atmos is also gladly supported on Prime Video and Vudu, Dolby Vision is present on Prime Video too. Vudu I couldn't get Dolby Vision to work for some reason, maybe it's either something I'm not doing right or maybe Vudu on there don't support Dolby Vision, Youtube HDR is also present on there too. In conclusion the Vizio V-series with Ultrabright 400 and 10-12 local dimming zones is a surprisingly great TV for not a lot of money, it's never been a better time to be a videophile on a budget, recommended.

Recently brought a new VIZIO because my old one broke. This TV is very easy to setup and connect to your WiFi. I’m happy it has free tv since I don’t pay for cable it’s comes in handy. Picture quality are amazing love watching Netflix and video game graphics are awesome as well. I would recommend this to any gamer or anyone who wants good picture quality. Also make sure you have the 4kHMI cord so you can have good 4K graphic with cable. DO NOT USE REGULAR HDMI CORD GRAPHICS WONT BE 4K. The sound is good I turn my sound speaker on so it’s a little louder just my preference. Great TV and price. Remote is very simple not too much going on which is a plus for me

I’ve had the M Series (2019) before buying this V Series (2019). You will save money and have a better picture quality buying the V series over the M series. M series (2019) are know to have LED bleeding. V series (2019) has deeper blacks. One fun fact about the V series, it uses quantum color which another name brand call the Q Series. Yes, this V series is HDR10 and Dolby Vision. As of March 2020, would I recommend this 2019 model? No, because the newer models are about to release and will most likely have a similar price with newer technology. Only buy this 2019 V series if it is on sale with a $50+ reduce price.

This is my 4th Vizio (good price) but the 1st 4K Vizio. The Vizio's "Watch Free Feature"selections is not the best or worst but for FREE viewing it is not too bad. The picture quality is very good and the sound is adequate. I use it in room that will get minimum use but I wanted decent quality. Setup was average for a smart TV. The 'Smart Cast Mobile' Vizio App works pretty good but if you don't use it in a few day to a week, you may have to pair it again with your phone's app. Pairing is easy and it works good. Using the phone/tablet app for a remote is easy once setup and can be fun with all the controls. I was hoping Vizio and Samsung would update their Sling App to work better. You can download the Sling app and view streamed channels or change the input/source to view locals if you have an antenna attached. Adding a Sling AirTV Player and an antenna for local channels, allows you to integrate the local channels with stream channels on the same input/source. Vizio & Samsung don't support this yet in their downloaded app; you have to use a streaming device to get that feature.

We had a similar sized Samsung in our bedroom. It was 4K UHD with HDR but the viewing angle was poor we finally could not stand it. This TV is much better off axis. The strongest point of this set is the black level, very impressive for a TV of this price range not to mention there is local dimming to further tweak contrast. Colors are nice and rich, I had to turn them down from the default settings. Dolby Vision looks very sharp on this set, it can look a bit dark on some sets. Sound is decent, the back cover is deep enough for better speakers than in most slim flat panels. This is good TV, especially for the price. The Setup options are a little deeper and more complex than some of these cheaper sets. The UI is refreshing and Vizio's own and not that generic one that can be seen on almost all budget sets. Recommended.

I ran this TV through its paces for the last 24 hours. The Vizio V436-G1 performs flawlessly with a ROKU Ultra. I also use this Vizio with my Playstation with excellent results. This 43 inch budget Vizio has many advanced technology features that are offered in more expensive flat screens, such as HDR, Dolby Vision, 10 dimming zones. The picture is superb for such a low price. The quality of manufacture is quite good but limited to mostly plastic construction.

I took my time checking different tv s online before i decided to get this tv . After taking into account more than 5 rating web sites reviews, I decided that VIZIO V436-G1 was the right choice. Thanks God, I was right, its 4K image is impecable. I would say Perfect. Before I got it, its really low budget price, it made me feel a little bit skeptical about getting a disposable tv . However this TV proved that you don’t need to be a very expensive tv to deliver an outstanding quality overall . Highly recommend. What I like the most ( its picture ...PERFECT) What I don’t like ( I would prefer this TV set with an electrical power cord a little bit longer ...not a big deal after all )

I bought this to replace my 10 yr old plasma that was starting to go. Very light weight and easy to set up. I use an Amazon Fire TV (not the stick) to watch PS Vue and it works great! I can even use the Vizio remote to use most of the controls with the Fire TV, with the exception of the home button to get out of apps and the Alexa voice button (which I never use). Nice to be able to change channels AND volume on one remote again. I'm a little disappointed that the TV doesn't have a component connection for my old Nintendo Wii, but I will just have to figure out a connection work around to use it still. The smart TV applications are easy to use, though you can't download new apps directly to the TV. You can stream from apps on your phone to watch on the TV though, which could be an option for some. Overall, I'm happy with this purchase.

This tv is great for my bedroom although I first thought that it was to big but I got used to the size really quick. When we were looking for a new tv for my bedroom I needed one that had an analog output and this one met that criteria. The picture is great on everything except the dish box but that is because I am not using an HDMI connection. It has 3 HDMI inputs which is enough for what I need. The only cons I have are that even though it is a smart tv it doesn’t have it’s own App Store so you can’t add apps yourself you are at the mercy of Vizio to add the apps. The other con is that the power cord needs to be longer since you can mount it on the wall.

This is my first purchase towards a 4K tv and I feel as if this was a smart choice. I've researched for weeks before buying, and Vizio was the brand that offered the most without breaking the bank. The picture is bright enough, and I really appreciate all of the HDR formats being supported.

We knew we wanted a smart tv some we would need to rent a cable box for that room, but when exploring the features found that Chromecast (hope I got that right) is included which provides live news coverage. We watch news in the morning and Netflix or Prime in the evening so are now thinking we need to upgrade the tv in the family room and cut cable for internet only. Yep, that’s the plan for the end of the current contract. Beautiful picture too!

Compared to all other models in the 43”, 4K range, this one surpasses all for the midrange price. It has 10bit coloring, true HDR, 10 local dimming zones, and great calibration abilities. There are definitely better TVs out there. But for the price range, the bells and whistles included and the size of the TV are the best deal currently out there, IMO.

Roku Premiere+(4630X) / Youtube makes a great testbed for 4K, HDR, and OLED (also Dolby Video) stuff and it does an amazing job. I'm finding other things on Roku are also been recognized as 4K - even HGTV. Regular 2K OTA TV channels do look better, but there's so much junk on TV that I don't watch it much - mostly streaming and BluRay. Even Roku-chan Buckeroo Bonzai streams free as 4K. So I bet lots of others do too. My DVD player is an old Sony S2500 Blu which does "okay" but I have a used Samsung 4K K8500 on the way so I think things there will definitely improve! For $280 it's a FANTASTIC purchase!!!!!!!!!! (I use new Monster 21Gig HDMI $15 cables, but I think BB has some $7 ones that would probably do 2.2 just fine.) Be aware the 2 downward pointing HDMI ports are fast 2.2 (Roku and 4K Blu) but the side port is slow 1.4 - I use that side one for porting mini HDMI off my laptop(2K). So nice that this TV has 3 HDMI ports - no more re-plugging!!! :) Love it!!!!!!!!!! I use optical audio to an LG soundbar - be aware that the Vizio doesn't show vol levels when using external audio but that is because the external stuff has its own version of what the vol is! :)
