Hello, Each outlet is protected with Tamper Resistant Receptacles (TRR) to protect against accidental insertions of foreign objects. With additional force, the white barrier can be bypassed with electrical plugs. The protected light shows that the unit is still providing the 540 Joules of surge protection, once it turns off the protection has expired. Thanks, Accell Support.
