Many newer notebook/laptop computers do not include a DVD drive. This is becoming more common because of cloud storage and digital downloads and media. You can attach an external USB dvd drive to add this functionality.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Believe it or not, DVDs and CD's are considered old and dated. Nowadays, most people stream media from the Internet. There are many websites that have free movies (crackle.com for example), and YouTube has most any kind of music. You can also add an external hard drive.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.2-in-1s and Ultrabooks don't have DVD drives because their goal is to be ultra-portable, and optical drives take up (relatively) a lot of space. If you want the best of both worlds, you can get an external DVD drive for <$25. That way you can play DVDs sometimes and have an ultra-portable 2-in-1 the rest of the time.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It's purpose is to be portable with most people using them to stream Netflix or such. Most 2-in-1 laptop brands have ditched the DVD drive for these models.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Ultrabooks or thin form factor laptops (like this one) nowadays do not include the bulky DVD/CD drive as technology is going more towards cloud. Most resources can also be found on the internet and downloaded from websites. The DVD drive would world also just add extra bulk to the laptop and increase the size and weight. My suggestion to you is to purchase an external DVD/CD drive that plugs in through a USB on your laptop.
