No, it has to be the same program.

If you wire the transmitter between the AV source and the TV, whatever the AV source is tuned to will display on both monitors. If you wire the transmitter before the AV source, in this case a cable/satellite box, you'll more than likely lose most of your channels (since the signal won't be going through the decoder before being transmitted to the second TV). If you want to view a channel different than the one at the transmitter location, I would suggest just getting another cable/satellite box and attaching it to the second TV.
