“We have 2 different make TV's and cable box and MyWirelessTV2. Want to watch only 1 TV at a time. Do we use the cable box remote to turn that off/on and select the channels and use the appropriate TV remote to turn the TV off/on and control the volume ?”

This is only a subsitute for an HDMI cable. Remotes work the same as with a hardwire HDMI cable
