QuestionCan I replace the hard drive of this laptop from a hard drive on my Toshiba satellite l15w without losing any data?

- Answer No, You need data recovery tools. I'd suggest downloading linux and booting from the CD using a Live Distrobution like Ubuntu- then you can transfer from one drive to the next, but if you remove this laptops hard drive the data will still be in that hard drive no matter where you place it.

- Answer 8gb on the 1080. No disc drive. Buy a USB 3.0 for cheap if you need it.

- Answer The r17 has 1 USB 3.0 port, 1 USB 3.0 port with power share and 1 USB 3.0 (Type C) port. Hope this helps.
