“Hook up the box to my tv and it did its search for channels but when it got done searching it showed no channels and we had the antenna hooked up also. What did I do wrong”

Good antenna and locations helps a lot
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.not sure, i would make sure the antenna is over roofline also not sure of how many channels in your area,i hooked mine up and am getting 60 channels i,m getting san antonio and austin channels as well as one in kerville.
