“is the drain hole on the bottom (underneath) or is it out the back ?”

• many newer units don't have bottom drains, in fact they are built with the idea in mind that a small amount of water may be in the bottom of the unit, and even can assist in cooling the compressor in some units. They typically drain, only when enough water is there for it to leak out of the lowest holes you see on the thing... seriously.
