Yes, you can use an SD card to download apps and use it as internal memory for the tablet. HOWEVER: Make sure that you get a reasonably fast micro SD, or you may run into issues. By "reasonably fast", I mean a card that has at least a U-1 rating; the higher, the better.. I bought a cheap 32 GB PNY micro SD card with an U-1 rating, and I got a warning that it may be too slow for the tablet, so your mileage is likely to vary. Hope this helps.
