what is the action button for? null

Action button can be used to give command to echo dot in case you don’t want to use word “Alexa” to wake it up.

One of the main reasons is to reinitialize it. It's rare, but all electronic devices sometimes misbehave. Some added skills may be responsible requiring reinitializing.

Every time you say something to it, you need to press that button first.
