I'm not certain if this is the answer you are looking for. I can say that I have paired an Echo Dot with my Asus laptop. It now functions as the speaker for any sound I play over the laptop, replacing the comparatively tinny sounding speakers in the laptop. During the pandemic, I have been doing more Skype calls and Zoom seminars than usual. The Dot certainly provides superior sound for those sessions. So I would guess that it would be effective for any conference calls you join via computer.
