Can it be setup on an open patio and left there? null

As long as you have WiFi range, yes you can set it up anywhere and it will work. It also has to be plugged in while in use. I would just be careful with weather damage on the device if it will be left outside.

I wouldn't recommend leaving it out because of weather changes and dirt might clog up the mics.
