We ours located in our retail store and the volume is adequate. We don't play music files saved on the computer, but we do play several different channels from the internet. No membership that I know of needed. Setup was easy. Just be sure to read the instructions.

Here are the steps on how to pair your device via Bluetooth to the Echo Dot: Put your Bluetooth device in pairing mode. Open the Alexa app. Select Devices. Select Echo & Alexa. Select your device. Select Bluetooth Devices, and then Pair A New Device. Next time you want to connect, enable Bluetooth on your phone or Bluetooth speaker and say, "Pair Bluetooth." Once the initial pairing is complete, certain Bluetooth devices may automatically reconnect to your Echo when in range.
