You shouldn't have to purchase anything to link them. As long as the 2 items are Bluetooth, just pair them.

You just need to buy a speaker that has bluetooth. If not, make sure the speaker has an auxiliary jack.

There are many blue tooth waterproof speakers. I would suggest you try a JBL Flip. You will be surprised by the sound from such a compact speaker

This has Bluetooth (and a jack for a 3.5 wired connection if needed). I use mine with a JBL Charge 3 speaker and it works and sounds great. Currently $99 at BB and other places. Others should also do the job. I just preferred the JBL speaker for the great sound and reasonable price.
