What do you use it for and how does it work- how does it know the songs you ask it to play etc? null

I usually tell it to play my music and it plays all of the music that I've downloaded/bought in my Amazon account. (Alexa, play my music.) If you have Spotify or other streaming services I believe you can instruct her to play music from there. (Alexa, play Spotify/Pandora etc...) but it all has to be connected within your Amazon account.

It works with WiFi. It’s a little bit like a computer program. You ask or tell Alexa what to play on the radio and she does. Simple and easy to use.

The dot can be used for number of things playing songs thru amazon music various questions reading stories ordering stuff online if you choose to set your account thru app if you have smart plugs and light. Just to name a few
