How do I get dot to answer when someone wants to talk. It continues to flash after i say Alexa shut down? Thanks null

All we do is say her name and she comes on...when we are done with listening to the radio etc we just tell her to stop and she does.

Not sure what you mean but I just say Alexa and pause a second. Then I just say what I want. I don’t wait for her to say anything to me first. Hope this helps.

The device is updating. Mine does this on occasion, My daughter was yelling at it for a while.

There’s never a reason or need to “shut down” the unit. If you really must however just unplug the device! The device doesn’t ever shutdown on command anyway

If it's flashing orange...say "Alexa give me my notifications please". If it's flashing green it didn't understand your direction.
