Hello Redtruck, The Echo Show 11 is made up of the 11 inch touch screen attached to the main base unit. The base unit contains the 360 degree speakers as well as the power and processing components for the device. The two pieces are attached so if you wanted to turn the Show 11 to face a certain direction the whole unit needs to be turned. There are separate accessory stands that swivel that are available on Amazon.com for $39.99. I actually purchased this stand myself. I have it sitting on my kitchen counter and I wanted to be able to move it without sliding it on the counter. If you aren't looking for a swiveling stand, Everything you need to get you up and running comes right in the box. As long as you have an existing Amazon account, or set a new one up for free, that's all you need to get rolling. I hope this answers your question!
