How do I turn device on? I recently purchased a kindle fire tablet. The battery is fully charged but the device will not turn on unless the power cord is connected. Is there something I need to do to get started?

There is an on and off button on the edge of the device

The button on the top is used to power it on. Try holding it down for a few seconds

You just press and hold the power button on the top of tablet until it turns on. Takes a few seconds.

May seem silly but have you held down the power button a few seconds? That is the way to both fully power on or off the tablet. I hope this helps.
