• Yes, there are popup ads on the lock screen that can't be removed easily. IDK about paying to get them removed. That was just one of the restrictions that prompted me to return it and get a Galaxy Tab.

• Not that I'm aware of. I bought mine last month at best buy and didn't have nothing like that on it. Hopes this answers your question.

• You can put a lock screen on it and you do not have to pay for it go on the settings and you'll be able to lock the screen if you want
