Hi there! You only need a free Amazon account to use the Fire HD 10 tablet, you don't need to be a Prime member. If you don't have an Amazon account it's free to sign up on their website. To disable lock-screen ads you can pay a one time fee via the Devices category on Amazon's website. As of right now (2/26/2026) it appears to be $15. This will remove special offers from the lock screen, though the tablet will still lock after a certain amount of time inactive. This version is 25% faster than the previous model, 30 grams lighter, and features a 5MP front facing camera for better photos and video calling.
