• Hi Myra! I have had decent success using my Fire HD 8 outside in direct sun light, but it's about the same as most other backlit tablets for that use case. I much prefer using a dedicated reading device like the Kindle for this purpose, especially the Paperwhite which is waterproof (IPX8). Hope that helps, have a great rest of your day!
