• I use both my remotes. I change the input with my tv remote BUT I use the Fire TV stick to go to different streaming sites and volume, etc.

• I don't think so. I believe each remote and Fire Stick are "paired" in production. I have more than one Fire Stick/remote combos and each remote will only control the Fire Stick it came with.
