• I know that I had my Firestick installed using the HDMI port of my Sony Bravia 2009 TV and it’s working well. Great reception.

• This can be used on any TV with HDMI. Unless you're using DVDs frequently, I would not recommend a smart DVD player. It will be more expensive and slower.
